I know this may sound dumb, but I imagine you would have to use the aimpoint "short screws" no matter if you were using the M4 or M4S, Correct?

Well I have a $600 dollar offer in right now on an M4S on ebay. DO you think that is a good deal?
What is that "zig zag" cut for in the bar that fits the pictanny slot?
Does the bar expand when the lever is closed, thus filling up the slot so there is no way the mount can slide front and rear?
This feature is/was needed a long time ago.

Focus people. Focus....Yeah, screw the mount, I want the lower!
And here we are with the slickest set of rings I have ever seen...
Image 1: Disassembled ring and base. Note how the top ring half utilizes fixed studs similar to a connecting rod in an engine.
Image 2: Top ring inserted in lower ring.
Image 3: Insert and tighten 12pt retaining nuts.
Image 4: Underside of assembled rings.
Image 5: Top side of assembled rings. Note how clean the top ring half is. No recesses to trap water, dirt etc. Just clean lines.
Image 6: Optic installed and mounted on weapon.

How much are these going to run?
Nice. It would have been even better if the studs were afixed to the lower portion. In the current configuration, should the nuts loosen they will fall from the mount and forever be lost- most likely when you're in a tight spot if your luck is anything like mine. Gravity is rarely your friend.![]()
