    Before I was saddled with the abortion that is the PEQ16 (integrated POS light), I would generally put the PEQ on either the 9:00 or 3:00 rail and put the light on the opposite side at 11:30 or 1:30.
    Tape switch for the PEQ, thumb for the light, unless the light was at 1:30, in which case I would put the PEQ tape at 12:00 and the light tape at 9:00.

    ETA:
    I prefer a 12:00 mount for the PEQ, but hate 3:00 and 9:00 (or below) mounting of lights. Usable, and nothing against those that use 3 or 9 position of white light, it was simply not my preference. I have, in certain configurations, opted to partially block my IR flood with the body of the scout light at 11:30 by moving the PEQ rearward, behind the light. This is, to me, sub-optimal, even with IR filters on the white light.
    Understood. At present I'm leaning towards the ATPIAL-C at 12:00 and trying to work a 300b in around 10:00 or so. I'm trying to avoid and tape switches if at all possible. Maintaining both white light and IR capability I feel is important for my needs.

    Stupid mk18 money pit....

    Here's how mine sits as of now. Been planning on moving it over to the 10 or 11 and eliminating the tape switch as well as I'd like to put a dbal on at 12.

    Even without the dbal, I haven't been a huge fan of the tape switch so I plan on reconfiguring it and just using the tail cap switch.

    Haven't had a chance to do it yet but looks like it'll clear.

    Have you fired it yet with the SF muzzle brake that close?

    Yup!!! No issues yet...Believe it or not, the front of the light sits back about 1/4 from the rear most port on the brake and if it becomes an issue I van move it back a bit further...

    This pic shows the distance from the brake to the lense a bit better;

    Mine sits back about 3 inches and it gets blackened by the muzzle blast all the time, it becomes a never ending lens cleaning.

    Haven't shot it a ton...but I can see that being an issue. Thanks for the heads up.

    Come up with any solutions?

    I've been running mine like that for a few months without issue.

    I put a very light coat of vaseline or lube on the lens before I go shooting or before a class and it wipes right off no hassle.

    Only figured that out because I ran about 500 rounds in a class before showing up for the night portion only to notice my lens was caked and could barley see with the light..

    Also I have a scout on an IWC mount for the VTAC alpha rail and a Gear sector offset both are fantastic.

    Hate the fatcory mount.
