Nope. They're using a titanium firing pin rather than a Series 80-type block.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

I' like to se .38 Super also as I reload, and can get a bit more performance out of it than a 9MM.

Funny nobody is complaining about the lack of front slide serrations.

I hate the look of any front serrations on a 1911. They, at least to my eye, clutter up the clean, classic lines of the pistol, and I don't see a need for them on a pistol equipped with the GI spring/plug/guide rod setup. I guess I just gave my age away, lol.

I kind of feel the same way about angled serrations. They look perfectly fine on a Browning Hi Power but I prefer the straight up and down 1911/Colt pattern. But that won't stop me from getting one of these new Rugers as soon as I can.

Me too. I was gonna make my next 1911 purchase the Wiley Clapp CCO, Colt, as I already have the Commander version, but I will be able to buy the Ruger for about half the money of the Clapp. Clapp later!

LW commander types are one of my all time favorite pistol configurations. I will have to avoid this Ruger, lest one follow me home. I already have a shelf full of this type, and certainly don't need another!
After readng this thread, I had to go open the safe and grope a couple of LW commanders, just to calm my nerves.
