I too am building a grendel upper for my 20" AR, may replace it depending on how it shoots. Bought a blackhole weaponry barrel at the end of july just as their sale was ending. Now the 6-8 week wait for it to arrive. Gives me time to pick up the other parts.

what are you asking for specifically? they shoot great, 20" is a good medium, I have a 24 and 18 inch, both are tack drivers

I was refering to the grendel may take the place of my 20" 223. I got the grendel in 20" standard contour which is about a medium. May turn the 223 into a cmp style upper with floated handguards and open sights.

they both have their place, I got a sweet .223 that shoots so well its hard to put down, but when you pull the Grendel out it smacks the steel that much harder and reaches out a bit more. then the wind factor... Grendel shines over the .223

This has become my favorite rifle I think I've owned. No matter what, it just shoots. Pick a load, fire away.

100yds. Standard trigger/hammer that has been polished. Rapid fire, meaning crosshairs on POA, hammer drops, in a cadence. 9rds. The two outliers happened when the hammer fell unexpectedly.

    Lapua 2x fired
    Rem 7 1/2 SRP
    123gr AMAX
    31.2gr of CFE223
    2.265" COL

Group at 2 o'clock is mine. There are 6 rounds there. This is a 1000yd gong at North Springs Range

Also at 1000yds. My first hit (2nd round) was the center of forehead. I took off .2 Mils and fired 6 more onto the sil. Some other people with 24" and 26" 6.5 Creedmoors were shooting it too.

Shooting it at 600yds is boring. Same for 700. Even 1000yds was pretty boring. Wind wasn't that bad, but was shifting speeds all day, although only 3-7mph mostly, with some short 10mph gusts. Values and speeds were different along the track though. One wind flag would be out, while another down, with different wind at the shooting position.

This has become my go-to lightweight semi auto system that can handle anything from close range, out to 1200yds and beyond.

I need to take this Lilja Grendel out to 1200yds next time. I've shot my 16" at that distance with factory ammo and it was frighteningly on target with very consistent and predictable impacts. The 16" AA barrel has a 1/7.5" twist, so it keeps projectiles stabilized very well even as you approach and decelerate through the transonic region.

This thing is so light and easy to handle, like an M4 without SOPMOD accessories. I had this concept for a true lightweight Semi Auto Sniper System back in the day. I have finally realized it with this set-up. I never thought it would be a reality with factory ammunition.
