What are the thoughts on CORE 6.5G uppers? How do they stack up next to the competition?

I think since it was developed by AA, that just might be the way I will go.

I thought Defenders couldn't be imported.

I've never owned one, but based on company reputation alone I would stay away. I have a Precision Firearms built upper that is fantastic. I would recommend them, AA, or JP.

I have an old but like new CAR15, I want to make sure I can just put a 6.5 upper on it and it should run with no modifications.

I run all my Grendels on my standard AR lowers, I use a super light weight for off hand tacticool stuff and a heavier lower for any distance shooting

Great news, one step closer to pulling the trigger. I can order an upper and have it waiting for me at my daughters when I return to USA.

I was going to go with Core15 on my Grendel build. They are going through some growing pains and didn't return my last call so I opted for another route. However, they do seem to be investing in all the proper machinery (Cut their own barrels). They are early in the game and if they get everything ironed out, could become a big player in the Grendel as well as the 6.5 Creedmoor soon to be listed according to Core15.

Shooting out to 800yds....boring, even from seated position, but the venue is great.

Rapid-fired group at 1000yds. I fired at least 6 times at it. Just kept hearing, "Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding..." Couldn't see where they were hitting, and thought I would find maybe a large pattern all over the place. Instead, if I count some of those impacts that appear to be from something bigger to the right, I would still have 8" of horizontal and 5" of vertical.
