Nickel Boron Coated BCG for Suppressed Use

So I purchased a Specwar 556 suppressor for my spr build and was wondering if having a Nickel Boron coated bcg has any benefits as far a reliability with suppressor use? I know suppressors eat up lube very quickly, and was wondering if this is where Nickel Boron coated bcg's shine

    Thanks

Not really. Oil/lube doesn't hold onto the Nib coating very well which is accelerated by the suppressor use, and its gets just as dirty as phosphate. Use a good lubricant like FireClean and that'll give you more benefit than the NiB.

That is one of the niches I see a benefit of NiB, since suppressors eat lube like no one's business. I was an early adopter of the FailZero and put over 2k rounds through an 11.5 (about half suppressed) with no lube or cleaning whatsoever. There's a thread here documenting the initial testing years back. Did it four times before I decided to just lube it anyway (action gets really gritty, but still functions, at around 700rnds suppressed).

I recommend using an NP3 carrier or carrier group.

NiB carrier groups are great for use with suppressors. They're so easy to clean! And they don't get as dirty either.

There is no downside and the cleaning or should I say (wiping off), is a breeze. I expect it could improve reliability in some guns. I just bought a couple carriers from Sionics for the cost of the coating alone.

I use them with much success.

I have a hard chrome BCG and all is takes is a paper towel to clean it. I do make sure it is prepped with Slip2000 EWL grease and lube and then a few extra drops at the range if shooting a lot.

Nickel Boron Coated BCG for Suppressed Use

Suggestions on specific products for NP3 BCGs? And does that mean nickel teflon BCG or NP3 only?

I've been wondering if the TR Enabling products are GTG...

NiB sucks for suppressed use. That finish soaks up and holds onto carbon like a magnet.

I ran an NiB bolt suppressed for a while. It looked like a standard GI bolt because it was black all over.
