    These are still onsale:

EDIT: I needed a BCG for a build, and for the sale price went with this NP3 job from Sionics. Still have zero rounds on the BCG but I assume they are GTG.

I have both and completely agree with this. Seems like my BCM is easier to clean as the carbon doesn't get burned on. The NP3 carriers are supposed to be better at this than the Nib. I would say FireClean is more of an answer (it really makes clean up much faster) for you than a new BCG, although their bottles suck.

I didn't know why until someone posted a super-magnified image of NiB compared to other finishes. It's much more rough/porous.

Np3/ Ni-ptfe is better on paper. It also has a better track record from what I've seen online as far as durability, but that may just be the execution of it, and not the coating itself. Hard to say for sure. I would buy Np3 1st, then phosphate 2nd, before nib. This is in relation to bolts, how much transfers to carriers, I don't know.

All that said, don't sacrifice base part quality for coating. Sionics has a good rep and provides both. I'd look hard at them if I was buying a bcg right now.

Even though I think the proper process is a pain, I keep going back to hard chrome for a first for many parts as other coatings tend to fall short in too many areas.

Can NP3 be applied over regular phosphate coated BCG parts, are Sionics BCGs first phosphated?

I have been looking into this topic lately and man there are a lot of options: Nitrocarburization, Hard chrome, NiB, NP3, Ionbond Diamondblack. Then you have MSTN customs applying Ionbond to YoungManufacturing hard chrome bolt carriers!

You have mentioned hard chrome before. Would you mind enumerating the shortcomings of these other coatings/treatments?

I had a complete hunting gun NP3. It was applied and worked perfect. Great process.

I just received 2 carriers from Sionics, and they are perfect. NP3 job was perfect. The carrier with NP3 was $65, crazy good deal.

Yea we can run a few make sure that are good to go. Sionics teaming up with Robar is very good company to keep. Nice way to differentiate their guns. Every little bit matters.

Short answer, no. You wouldn't want that. Even if you could, it would offer no benefit as the Np3 would completely cover the phosphate.
