Anyone, with even a cursory knowledge of physics, should understand there is no way anything, other than speed reduction can silence the supersonic crack. I'd say they do a right dandy job of silencing everything but the supersonic bullet crack. When using subsonic ammo most are surprisingly quiet. I'd say it is pretty well silenced when the cycling of the slide / bolt is louder than the blast out of the muzzle.

Was hoping those numbers would be better.

To me, published db levels are simply a guide that one may use when deciding which suppressor to purchase. I will let my ears be the judge in a few months, and I doubt that I am disappointed.

I think if db levels are at the top of your list of priorities, waiting for independant numbers and/or a group shoot where you can compare and contrast is a must.

Well Silencershop has great numbers imo...more in line with what Silencerco published..which is not to say Capitol's test was "off" just shows variables can change the db by a good margin.

Surprising that their numbers are fairly close to what they got for the Spec-War.

Everyone still hears differently due to varying levels of hearing loss. Also, how do the sound levels that particular meter records translate to your ear or my ear? Who knows, because we weren't present that particular day for that particular test. We now have a few different tests, and each have recorded different db levels. So, what does this mean?

That is why these published db levels should only be used as a guide. In fact, there are so many different factors that come into play, the only way someone can get a true test is to shoot it themselves.

    PSA:
"NOTE: Within the last year, SilencerCo began shipping shorter Specwar / ASR Flash Hiders. The longer pronged flash hiders, which measure 2.87" in total length, will not work with the Omega. If you purchased an Omega and your previously purchased flash hider's total length is greater than 2 3/4", contact SilencerCo for an exchange."
