SAC is rethreading my AUG barrel from the stock AUG 13mm-1 LH flash hider mount to 1/2-28. My Steyr Pro Hunter's barrel is too small for the 5/8-24 thread pattern. They are going to cut that barrel to 20" and rethread it to 1/2-28 and bore the flash hider to allow the .308 bullet to pass through it. This seems to be the easiest plan to fit the Omega to both the AUG and the Pro Hunter. Now, I just need an adapter to mate the Omega to my SLR106FR.

I am ordering a barrel for my Savage bolt gun (currently .308, going 6.5CRD), and having it threaded 5/8-24 to take the Omega. I will keep the muzzle brake on this gun all the time, and if POI shift is tolerable, shoot it both with and without the can.

The primary host for the Omega is going to be my 5.56 AR-15 SBR. So, to swap the can over to the 6.5, I will need to swap the flat end cap back for the anchor brake. As long as I'm doing that, I was thinking about RockSetting the direct-thread mount onto my SBR, and just removing the Omega from the SBR by taking the body off the direct-thread mount, then installing the anchor brake and ASR adapter to put it on my bolt gun.

Any issues with that, other that being slow? I don't want the length and weight of the muzzle brake/flash hider + ASR adapter on my SBR, and I don't ever plan on shooting that gun with the can removed anyway.

The only glaring issue I see is when you remove the Omega from the 5.56 SBR and have the flat back attached. It's going to catch on a lot of things of your not careful.

Don't forget to register your Omega. SiCo will send you a free pouch and 5.56 flash hider for the ASR mount.

Ooh, I didn't know that. I'll register when it comes in.

To be clear, I'm never going to shoot the SBR without the Omega on it. The suppressor will live on there with the exception of when I'm actually shooting the 6.5 suppressed.

If you have the serial number you can register right now. SiCo emailed serial number on a Friday (the day I bought it), I registered and had my mount and pouch within the next 3 business days.

That's excellent. I will call my shop and get the S/N. Thanks!

Does anyone with a new ASR mount know the overall length of it?

Had no idea. I have my serial numbers so I'll have to register them. I wonder if they don't send out the flash hider now? Their registration page shows a t-shirt or a pouch.
