Bummer for those that want to go to 8.2/8.5.

Straight from silencerco customer service. Just emailed them today

Ya I emailed Silencer Co originally and they forgot to add the last part in their reply. So yes this is correct.

So what are the rest of the baffles? Titanium ?? 10oz is a lot of weight to lose ( Compared to the Specwar I was looking)

They clarified via email with me that the blast baffle is stellite, the rest of the baffles are stainless and the tube is Ti. They say it should be just as durable as the Saker.

ETA: Here is their exact wording: "Titanium tube, Stellite blast baffle and fully welded steel core. It will be just and durable as our Saker series. "

Huh? A stellite blast baffle with stainless baffles is as durable as a full stellite baffle core?

Edit: thanks for clearing that up with them. Now we know what is used where.

It's clearly not as durable as the Saker, when the Saker is rated to much shorter barrel lengths. Not sure why SiCo would be saying that

I can't wait until Silencershop or another well known dealer actually gets a hands on review and can confirm all of these contradicting rumors Silencerco is throwing out here.

All of which is moot in my opinion if they never release a MAAD trifecta mount that their supposedly top tier can uses. Using a legacy mount or 2nd tier mount is stupid IMHO..... that may offend some ASR users, but if the ASR was soo great, then SiCo should have only used that on the Saker.

FWIW, I am also in the boat of waiting till after SHOT to purchase cans. For me, the Saker 762 was at the top of the list due to the endcap accessories (namely 5.56 end cap to bring the suppression below a dedicated Saker 556 and the trifecta flash suppressor endcap).

Silencerco confirmed (by way of Silencer Shop) that the brake endcap will be removable and that they will offer flat end caps and flash suppressing end caps.

Thank goodness I procrastinate or I would have had a Saker 762 on the way. I am baffled why they did not use Saker mount though. Both mounting systems are good I just assumed the Saker mount was slightly better. So why not use it? Price cannot be the reason because the Saker and Omega are so close.
I'm gonna stay tuned for now.

    This.

Who the heck is in charge over there these days?

So far we have 2 threads running in which third parties are passing (a whole lot) of rumor about what their latest and greatest product is and how their new discount program is going to work.

Surely it can't be beneficial for them to publish a bunch of crazy low specs (based on metering location vs. the brake-cap) and then disappoint later on.

Based on what I've heard, I'd still get the Saker.

Second rate mount and SS stack?

Saker is still their top of the line can.
