    Triple Curve Shooter/Swimmer Cut Plates?

I've looked around a bit, and couldn't find anything like this on the civilian market. Trying to find something with the steeper cut on teh sides.
Tried a pair of single curve shooter cut plates, not going to work for me.

Looking for a standard med/10x12 triple curve shooter cut plate- don't care it it's Lvl 3 with soft backers, or Lvl 4 standalone.
Preferably that doesn't weigh a damn ton (no more than 6-7 lb- less would be better), and doesn't cost a fortune.
    Ceramic Multi-hit construction, as usual.

    Anything like this out there?

Not sure if this is what you want but you might check these out. I have a pair of these that came from Midwest Armor but also has the HighCom Security name on them. Mine are 10x12 single curve but on HighCom's website they have quite a selection of sizes, cuts, and shapes. They are multi-hit, level 4, stand alone. One single plate weighed roughly 7lbs 3oz. I myself am wanting the multi-curves but I need to sell these first.

Is this what your looking for? http://bulletproofme.com/RP-Level-4-Stand-Alone.html I've ordered a set of plates from this company, they were very helpful with selecting the right plates for me and shipped fast.

I know these are out of stock but it may give you another manufacturer to hunt down. I had a normal cut level IV plate (in a crye jpc w/ first spear cummerbund) and it definitely was uncomfortable running a rifle and hampered my pistol form as well, ymmv. I ended picking up the swimmers cut (same carrier setup) and it made a huge difference for me in terms of comfort and performance (i'm not a hsld guy so I need all the help I can get, haha)

Was a great price- I remember when that deal came through.
Not a triple curve plate though...

I saw those- can't from the picture tell if it's any different cut from the VS P34's I have now.
And they'd actually be heavier than the VS plates without soft backers.

That being said.... I swear I read some ungood things about UHMWPE in testing a while back... can't find the link.

I'm not an armor expert, but I've done some reading recently. You're correct, UHMWPE has weaknesses, particularly related to temperatures around 170F and also related to contact shots against soft armor. Temps in the 165-170F range destroy the qualities that stop bullets and basically turn the armor into plastic. I've read that this is a bigger concern with soft armor than it is with hard armor.
