I am not at all taking anything away from the craftsmanship of a well made 1911, but I can buy 8 Glocks for the price of that thing. Or pay my property taxes for 2 years. Or put 10% down on a Mercedes CLA.

I'm not denying that it is a good weapon, they just seem so expensive for being such a tiny piece of steel.
Dude where have you been? Good 1911s that run have always cost disproportionate amounts of money.

    BCM 1911 / Wilson Combat

I have it somewhere. MSRP was higher, but dealer price was lower.

Something like CQB, railed frame, reverse crown barrel, countersunk slide stop, Ambi safety, bulletproof magwell. Probably a few other no cost options.

I think it was msrp under $3500, dealer price under 3200.

I knew it was going to be ~$3k but was expecting $3000-3100.

Don't get me wrong. Still want. Still will try to get one. And regardless of what anyone thinks about the price, technically it's still a good deal because it will be worth more than the asking price once you get it.

I think $3000 is just more of a mental barrier for me personally. When I could get an xtac with ambi safety for ~$2400.

Holy sticker-shock, Batman!! I'm not really surprised with the price considering the quantity being offered, but for me the price keeps it more in the collectors item category. I feel that they are most likely worth almost all of the asking price, but I don't feel that I am committed enough at this point to pony it up. I will have one some day, but thanks to Obama and OPEC, it will not be today.

While I like BCM and Wilson guns. This offering does seem to offer nothing special besides the roll marks and logo grips. It would of been cool if something more unique was done.

I was told that over 30 hours goes into each gun. There's your price right there.

1911s like this are like hot rods. Some people just see a Chevy Nova that someone spent way too much money and time on, but hot rod guys love them and don't need to justify why they own them. There will always be more Camry sedans on the road and for good reason, but I'm a hot rod guy and can fully appreciate the appeal of the Gunfighter 1911, especially after spending 30 minutes shooting video with it.

There's not a lot of room on a 100 year old gun to reinvent the wheel. Short of going Heirloom precision ape shit on amazing detail... which would drive the cost up even more.

I think it's a bad ass 1911, and in the spirit of Bravo, it's not going to be a friggin show piece. It's meant to run.

(listen to me defending a fukking 1911... WTF?)

I treat my lawnmower better than I treat my 1911.

The price is not out of line with what a similarly optioned X-Tac would cost without the BCM engraving and grips.

I don't understand the sticker shock. It's a Wilson. They usually run $3K plus....
