steyr scout rifle

I may not be at the right place but I will ask my question just the same hopping that some of you could help me.....I wish to buy a steyr scout rifle but I am afraid of the alluminium receiver not lasting very long .... I shoot 4 to 5 thousand rounds a years ( practice with cast bullets ) what is your opinion on this receiver.... thank you Canuck

The bolt locks into a steel barrel extension, not the aluminum receiver itself. This is the same basic principle which allows aluminum receivers to be used safely in the AR-10 and AR-15.
