Talk about self-fulfilling prophecy. You obviously want a Saker, and are just looking for people to tell you to buy a Saker, so...buy a Saker? There, thread fulfilled.

As for your requirements, if a SOCOM has too much flash for you, then you're going to be sorely disappointed with everything else on the market. Your expectations are unreasonable and need to be tempered, and even ignoring that, you also obviously have a bone to pick with Surefire beyond just their suppressors. What a shame (for you that is)

Guys I appreciate the responses, but I've decided through my own experience and research to choose a SiCo can of some sort. If I was open to other cans I would have left it ambiguous.

Right. So why bother with this thread? You had already decided on a Saker even before you posted it. Just buy the Saker.

If I had decided on the Saker, I would have said, "help me pull the trigger on the Saker". It's why I left it open to other SiCo rifle cans. You do know they make other models right? At only one point in this whole thread did I state that the Saker is at the top of my list.

Specwar K looks pretty good, if I didn't already have a saker it would be a tough call

I have to agree with DreadPirateMoyer, you seem to have already made your mind up and agree you will be disappointed with whatever can you end up with due to unreasonable expectations. This thread may have been better titled "Saker 556 vs. Saker 762: flash signature", because let's face it, you've ruled everything else out. Being weight and length are also issues for you, I'd grab the Saker 556 with flash hider end cap and call it good. I own a Saker 762 and compared to a Surefire RC it's as long as a fence post & heavy as a brick, traits necessary for .308 & up but not necessary for 5.56.

    Saker 762
    Saker 556
    Saker 556k
    Specwar 762
    Specwar 556
    Specwar 556k
    Omega
    Harvester

Tell me how I ruled everything else out. I'm all ears. The only "unreasonable expectation" I had was zero flash. If that's so impossible, then a simple "that's not going to happen" would have worked.

No, you know what? Stop commenting. Let this thread die. You people obviously can't answer a simple question.

"I want a cookie. What kind should I get?"
"No, no cookies. You want a milkshake."
"Um, I'm lactose intolerant, I'd prefer a cookie"
"I agree with the other guy, get a milkshake"
    "I can't have a milkshake."
"You obviously have something against milkshakes."

I get what you're saying, and sometimes it seems like there's no point in posting a which silencer thread because the answer is always surefire. But in this case you have people that have used both telling you that your number one reason for ruling out the surefire does not apply.

It would be like saying you want a cookie over a milkshake because you're lactose intolerant but then finding out the cookie actually has more lactose and still choosing the cookie.

Now, if you want to get a cookie still because it's a lot cheaper than a milkshake and makes less noise while you're eating it without having too many drawbacks, that is totally understandable.

ETA: I would probably get the Saker 556 or Omega just passed on not being a fence post. The K models will be worse in flash and sound and the Specwar/Saker 762 are both pretty long. Plus the Omega and Saker 556 with still both take the flash hider end cap.

I would hypothesize that the Saker 762 with 5.56mm flash hider end cap would be the quietest and contain the most flash. I know some people have shown that it's quieter than the Saker 556 (as long as the 762 as the 5.56mm end cap). Unknown on flash though. I would think that the larger volume would hold more back, but that's just a guess.

OP: This forum is very pro-Surefire, I wouldn't expect anything besides the responses people have given so far, because that is the limit of their experience. I've shot both cans, and honestly the Saker with the FH device performs somewhat better than the SF but at the cost of weight and length. There's no flash in the daytime with either suppressor on 14.5" barrels using 556 ammo, and night flash with either is negligible. The Saker556 will be quieter and arguably more durable over the long term. You'll need to shoot your suppressor and each of your guns to see how repeatability fairs. I've noticed a repeatable 3 MOA shift to the 6 o'clock between unsuppressed and suppressed using a lightweight profile 14.5" midlength barrel using the Saker, which is acceptable to me. I have yet to test it on a shorter, more rigid standard profile barrel.

Your money would be best placed in either the Saker 556 (good all around suppression), the Saker 762 (quieter), or the Omega (holy **** super quiet but with visible muzzle report due to anchor-brake.)
