I have no intentions of disrespecting any of you that have posted about bubba and his deer gun, but for the record most fudds are pretty good shots. Couple that with the fact that they only think human kill zones are head shots (looking back on my ccw class, similar events, and old friends) and most of their children play war games online.... I think they could surprise many folks on here. Obviously a moving head shot would be more difficult, but probably not impossible. I would say these are the types that would be looking to score gear for themselves or their group.

My comments about Bubba are not just talking about some backwoods hicks...it is about most people. As you said head shots are hard. What is even harder is shooting a person. Unless you do it A LOT your not going to be thinking about it, you will be thinking about a bunch of other things. So human instinct is to aim for the largest part of the target. I have seen this in Soldiers when shooting at people wearing armor. They know it won't work but they are working on muscle memory from their qualifications because they have about a thousand things running thought their mind.

As for video games......greatest tool for my enemy ever.. ...it gives people all kinds of bad habits and flase ideas about combat. I have even seen this in American soldiers. Now does this apply to everyone? No, it does not but it does cover the vast majority.

Again not agrueing about it just food for thought.

You mean like the recent death of the kid from Belgium I think it was that was level 57 of some sort of game and got vaporized by a hellfire first time out with ISIS and his kill/dead ratio was 0-1?

As I recall, his friends twittered in disbelief as he was so "ninja-awesome" in the video game world and they couldn't believe he was taken out so fast.

Nothing like reality to bring one back to their senses.

At the shooting range last weekend, guy on the bench next to me had trouble keeping shots anywhere within a standard 100 yrd target at... 50 yards. Had to be the gun, the ammo, etc.

In his mind's eye he was drilling single holes.

Couldn't have been the NCStar scope!! "I paid $100 for it!"

Overt/Covert... I like the idea of being able to do either.

In any SHTF scenario, I plan on being a covert as possible any time I am out and about. As a fat, old, retired cripple, I don't want to attract too much attention. To be honest, it's not the bad guys I worry about, but police and government forces that give me pause. If I'm out, it's for a reason, and I want to be able to just do my thing and get back home without looking like I'm patrolling for trouble. I may go as far as open carry, I do sometimes anyway if I want my shirt tucked in to look nice.

At home I feel like I can take a more aggressive posture. First off there is that whole "Do what you want on your own land." thing. If I left the house, I really have nowhere to run to, other than the homes of family and friends. (no BOL but some supplies stashed at other locations) Short of loading up the truck and heading out into the great unknown with my family, (I have scouted some currently uninhabited areas) I'll be making a stand at the homestead...

Of course, if a SHTF turns into a EOTWAWKI... all bets are off, and you're pretty much going to want a combat rifle on you at all times and be sporting body armor.

Haha, you mean to tell me that you can't just put the cross hairs on their head 1000 meters away and kill them?

    I get what you're saying.

What kind of bad habits do you see from video games?
