    SF XT07 switch-TU already

Got my SF XT07 switch for my X300 last week. Without being subjected to so much as one round of recoil, a drop of rain or even an ill-intentioned glance, it is dead. Just super. I'm glad this was the improved one. What did the old ones do, kill everyone in a 3 block radius when you flicked it on?

I've got two of the 1st gen XT07's that are in need of repair. One broke the tab that connects it to the X200/300 body and the other has a short causing intermittant light. I love the concept and still use these on several rifles, but the XT07 is one of the most problem plagued products Surefire has produced (second only to the Helmet Light IMHO).

Check the pressure pad cable; those go bad sometimes too. Other than that all I can say is that Surefire has great customer service and you should use it.

Yeah, I'll give SF a ring tomorrow. I placed the standard rear back on the X300 just to make sure it wasn't the light. It wasn't. Even SF makes a lemon every now and then I guess. Maybe Gen III will be the answer.

It happens. I get bulbs blown right out of the gate and click tailcaps that last for one click.

The part of the switch that had the most issue was the tab protecting the switch broke easily. This have a metal insert in it now.

This was the improved as I got it from you. For a second I figured since I haven't bought anything from you in so long you sabotaged it.

I've dealt with SF CS before and I know they will make it right.

    Additional TU revised Surefire XT07

One of the revised switches I got from G & R is TU.

When I first got it in June, I tested it, then put it up until some rails I had ordered arrived.

I got it out today and it is dead.

I swapped the batteries, with the XT07 on - Nothing- then I replaced with the factory X300 back and it works just fine.

I really can't believe this as now I can't install the light onto my new Larue mount, because once you install the hinged cap you can't remove it without removing the entire Larue hex cap base plate.

    I will call Surefire Tomorrow.
