    Turkish Mauser

Picked up the below Mauser at a local gunshow today ($175). This is an M38 version, although I understand that"M38" is just a designation assigned by importers and is unlikely what the Turks called it .Receiver markings are "KKale 1940" and "ANKARA". Compared to the other Turk Mausers I've seen this one is in unusually good condition, with near 100% blue, an excellent bore, and really nice wood. I'm kind of a history buff, and this is a nice addition to my collection:

Nice rifle. I also like having older rifles like Mosin Nagant's, and although not too old, SKS'.

That is in amazing condition for a Turkish Mauser. Nice!

I still have a case left of the 1940s Turk 8mm ammo. That stuff was super cheap but has lots of hangfires and duds due to the way it was stored.

The Turkish Mauser is a true large ring 98 design and supposedly a good shooter. My 98 Mausers are Czech and German.

    Nice find!
