Please post a pic of your carbines, I want to see how many "serious" things you have mounted and where. I'm a dummy when it comes to this stuff, so many you could teach se lessons for myself and others!?
I didn't say anything about serious or dummy. Pic from this morning. If I have to walk much, I pocket the VFG or mount it on the 3:00 rail to keep it out of my way. I keep a 1.5-5X Leupold in a Larue SPR mount handy. I also have a bipod in a qd mount that I seldom use. There's a P2X Fury on the 9:00 rail, but if I need to I can pop an X300U off my pistol and use it on there too.

I can attach everything I want, exactly where I want it, without messing with rail sections, adapters, special mounts, or tiny little special nuts. I can then take my outdated Larue rail and everything on it and thanks to old-school qd mounts, change configuration in a few seconds.

Strange as hell I know, but I'm wierd like that.
    Yep. Agreed.

For longer and still light Quad Rails, I'd go with the Daniel Defense Lite Rail 3.

We are in a Golden Age for AR-15s...there are so many options on everything now there is no reason for anyone to not have their carbine set up to meet their needs. I do not see why others question other's preferences when they spell them out.

For what it's worth, I used to think Keymod was nonsense too until I ran the system. I still run some Full Pic rails too. But the Keymod certainly has many advantages over the alternatives. Arisaka's accessories alone make the KMR a smart purchase.

All the attachment systems have pros and cons. I'm also in the camp that still favors pic rails though.

Yes I agree....and once I actually read the instructions on how to properly attach key mod accessories, well that was a game changer :P

I just prefer the simplicity of the quad rail-the rails are solid. I have seen some issues with properly installed keymod accessories coming loose when run hard. I had an in depth look at the M Lok system and think it has merit over the Keymod. All of my accessories are set up for picatinny mount, so would rather keep them as is
I really like the feel of the Larue rails- they are slim enough for me with the rail covers I use.
As I mentioned before, the weight difference is very slight between Larue and the DD RIS / Lite rail- funny that the Larue was referenced as a boat anchor somewhere in this post

BCM's new anchor attachment makes it completely idiot proof. Some of the attachments are a little tricky and/or require indexing the keymod nuts.
