I know it's not Iowa but the MN house (89-40 I believe) and Now the Senate passed (40-23) the legalization of suppressors in Minnesota.

Governor Dayton said he doesn't intend to sign it in to law. Senator Latz, The majority leader for the MN Senate, said the same thing last week about bringing any pro 2A bills to a vote on the senate flow. Thursday night all five pro 2A bills passed with broad bipartisan support.
Please contact Governor Dayton to reconsider! We are literally one signature away from suppressors in MN!

If you can't get CLEO then you have to get a trust or corp.

The problem is that many people use a trust or corp but can still get CLEO. These are the people that have drawn way to much attention to this issue and brought on 41P. They are abusers of the system.

The Minnesota suppressor bill is part of a huge omnibus bill. Usually I hate those for the major source of pork that they are, but in this case, Gov Dayton would have to veto the entire 165-page Omnibus Public Safety Finance and Policy bill to get to the two pages of silencer stuff. The bill is very wide-ranging, including programs about school safety, hazardous material programs, terrorism, firefighters, sex trafficking, accounting of rape kits and a bunch of other stuff.

Not entirely sure of all the provisions for use, but Minnesota is one of 43 states that still has the Line-item veto.

    Only applies to appropriations bills.

The way it sounded (or at least how I read it) in the email I received from MN-GOCRA, is that the suppressor bill did not get added to the omnibus bill. My assumption, however, relies on my reading comprehension and I am open to correction.

It's part of the Omnibus bill, but Dayton is making a lot of noise that he will veto the entire bill. Call your representative. Call the governor's office.

Both my reps voted "Yes" for the suppressor bill and I've sent my comments to the governors office via email already. Just trying to get the word out to those around me who show interest.
