I guess unless your 3G connection at the time was actually coming from equipment that was installed on the hospital network. Something doesn't add up there.
Their WiFi network is a different matter. They own it and maintain it and can manage traffic how they wish. Last couple hospitals I've been in blocked firearms related sites on their WiFi.

This. There local networks they can control how they wish. But 3G should have been fine. Have known a number of places that would block sites like M4C and others when I went in to eat. Upon leaving I generally make abundantly clear that I will not be returning and will let those I know aware that they do not support the rights of citizens.
