I'm betting if you search gunbroker, you can find similar receivers that others thought were a "good idea" & now are trying to recoup some of their money!

Sounds interesting. Post some pics when it's complete. But does it REALLY have to be a Noveske lower?!?!?

Well, consider this, no matter what you do to that fine Noveske lower. It will never, ever, be as cool as these. Unless of course you leave it alone, but that's just me.

Except maybe it will be cooler than this one. Or maybe not!

Wow! Those first few skeleton lowers looks likes they'll crumble with one drop.

I believe the main reason to "skeletonize" a lower receiver is in case of a "KABOOM", there isn't enough metal there for the pressure spike to blow apart the lower. All of those cutouts relieve the pressure to a safe level! Seriously though, I'm just blowing smoke up someone's, and you just know there's someone out there, gullible ass!

Wow. OK, at the end of the day, to each his/her own, but these skeletonized lowers are just asking for trouble.
Objectively, the fire control and mag well are more exposed to ingress of foreign matter, the structure is weakened (although I am not sure if it is significant enough to cause issues), and yes, OK you save a tiny little bit of weight.

Subjectively, I really don't think they look cool, but at least these ones look like they were made that way purposefully:

These, on the other hand, look like a machine shop massacre.

I wouldn't use one of these if you gave it to me for free. I'd still take it though. I'd just sell it and put the money towards either non-butchered lowers or ammo.
