Well, that leads to another problem with PSA...they have so many different products all of different levels of quality with parts from different manufacturers. They have some FN barrels in some products, which I am sure are decent quality, but then they have their "freedom" line which looks cool, but is not the same quality, etc. They also have PTAC which they sell cheap cheap cheap, but a lot of customers do not even realize that it is not even branded as PSA.

That's why I said I wouldn't recommend PSA to anyone who didn't know what to look for. They've diluted their product line

Yes, and you have to understand their business model which is to sell thousands of each selected SKU at a time for a very minimal markup...it works for them, but it is not a system that allows for the highest quality control.

Just to clarify. I never said the charging handle was gritty. I felt grit when I pulled the charging handle due to the roughness of the inside of the buffer tube. The charging handle was BCM. You may want to re- read my post. The buffer tube was PSA and the grittiness is still present, especially compared to my other rifles. The takedown pins were and still are very gritty and tight. I blame myself for not ordering a lower parts kit and buffer tube from a reputable company. Never again.
Got pics of your buffer tube and BCG?

I'll say this upfront, your mileage may vary, but I'll share my experience with my PSA 20" CHF upper.

I bought mine right as Sandy Hook went down. I had been itching for an A4 rifle for awhile, and I figured I'd better get one before the politicians went crazy.
I pulled the trigger. I think I paid $500 and change for the CHF upper and the C-158 premium BCG. I don't remember exactly.
I figured if I hated it, I'd be able to get my money back out of it fairly easily. I didn't really expect much (I'm a pretty rabid Colt fan, but Colt hadn't released the A4 at that moment in time). 3 weeks later, the big brown truck of happiness showed up with my upper. After reading about some people's experiences, I half expected a crooked FSB, or a loose barrel nut, or some other abortion I would have to deal with.
I went over it with a fine toothed comb, and couldn't find a bloody thing wrong with it. I almost wanted to, in some way, so I could justify flipping it, and maybe making a buck.
I dislike the PSA emblem on the left side of the upper, but it doesn't twist my panties.

I sighted it in with the ACOG at 100m, and shot the absolute piss out of it. Never once missed a beat. Never.
There are close to 4K rounds through this upper/BCG with zero malfunctions. Various types of ammo.
I haven't found anything it HATES, it is reasonably accurate with everything I've stuffed in it (primarily Federal M193/M855, with 69, and 77 grain stuff thrown in for testing purposes.
I HAVE shot it out to 500m at the ranch in Tx. It shoots better than I am capable of at that range with a 4x ACOG.

Because I'm Colts bitch, I bought one of the new A4 uppers from a guy (non 'F' marked FSB). I don't have as many rounds down range through the Colt upper as I do the PSA, but what I HAVE noticed, is that all things being equal, the PSA upper will maintain better consistency (smaller groups) through long strings of fire than the Colt does. That's not saying it's more significantly accurate than the Colt, I'm just sayin though shooting 3-4 mags one after the other, the PSA is a slight bit more consistent than the Colt.
I attributed that to the CHF barrel vs the button rifled barrel. I honestly have no idea.

Some people have had shit experience with PSA, some haven't. My experience was certainly good.
When I take a 20" rifle to the ranch (instead of one of my carbines), which one do I grab?
The one with the PSA upper.

That's from a solid Colt fanboy.

Your experience may vary, but that's mine.

Nope. I run LMT bcg's in all my rifles. I have swapped it and the spring out just to check. The buffer tube is the culprit. Between the tube and the experience with the takedown pins, I will never order from them again. I can only blame myself for not ordering premium parts from a reputable company.

You must not. Because if you did, you wouldn't be saying that.
I do have experience with PSA customer service and while slow, they came through in the end. I dont expect the world from companies. I find that i am less disappointed when someone invariably screws up because guess what, we are human, they are human, etc etc.

Do you have any personal experience with the PSA 20 inch CHF upper?
You are a genuine toolbag if you have your EDC "loadout" in your signature line...

My vltor A5 tube wasn't smooth when I charged it either. I didn't blame vltor, I lubed up the spring lightly and put some rounds down range. Problem solved.
