Delta Airlines honors two fallen heros

Members of Delta Airlines honored a US Army Soldier and his K-9 partner, both killed in battle.

The smaller container is the coffin of the K-9.

My sincere thanks and deepest appreciation to those baggage handlers in Atlanta, for performing this kind deed. Much respect.

Makes me feel a little better about my Delta experience recently. But mostly I feel bad that we are losing still soldiers and dogs to help people who seem to value that sacrifice as much as they value a dog. I know from the soldiers perspective he was probably doing it to protect other soldiers and I can understand that, but I wish we didn't still have people in harms way as we don't seem to be doing anything meaningful.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

If it makes you feel better a little, that video was from two years ago. That in no way diminishes what Delta did (and does), but Delta these days does not have to render honors like this as often...

Excellent. Good to see. Congrats to Delta for being stand up.

Yea, hard not to. I've played taps many times, hard to keep it together sometimes. What these guys did was special for the soldier, his partner, and family. Much respect.
