Hell, guys in the Kyber pass have been turning out weapons in mud huts with nothing but hand tools for a long time now. People were building guns long before modern manufacturing methods became available. It may take a lot longer but one off hand fitting can get the job done just like CNC machining....

And that M-16 pictured would probably still run. Make sure there's no internal burrs and lube it up good. The location of the holes is probably seeing very little stress.
