How about someone actually states what's wrong with them? Maybe it's because it's on my phone, but I don't see a quantifiable difference between the dpms and colt feed ramps both pictured in this thread. Someone asks what the difference is and people say if you can't tell, then read more. Why not help educate them?

It's bugging the crap out of me that I can't tell what's wrong with them. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the left one is not a smooth transition receiver to bbl ext.

They appear to be cut too deep which can cause a lip under the barrel extension.

And for the record, I'm a BCM/Colt guy.

First hand experience is a nice thing to have. But at the same time it can be hard to tell what's a true account of facts and what's an emotionally invested report from some anonymous nobody on the internet. So we mostly turn to accredited professionals who use and/or review these rifles for a living so we can trust that what's being reported is coming from somebody that truly understands what's being discussed. I'll take an anecdotal account from someone that understands differences in quality and what those differences mean to the end user all day before I put any stock into the opinion of my neighbor with a safe full of Windham and Armalite or LGS owner selling these brands who are almost guaranteed to have some sort of bias.

Oh that post wasn't directed at you or anyone, in particular. Just a general commentary.

Best Arfcom thread I've ever come across. Ahhhh... which forum am I in? What's next on the list, Colt vs. Stag, Bcm vs. Oly, Lmt vs. Doublestar, DD vs. DPMS, etc, etc, etc,. Nothing, absolutely nothing positive ever comes from threads similar to this. All of them head south. Thank God for Taboola Ads!

Thank you. I find it difficult to tell due to angle and lighting... but maybe it's just me.

You honestly can't see that the feed ramps were made after the upper was anodized? Not, the correct way which is to machine the feed ramps and then anodize them?

In all fairness it is hard to tell that from the picture, at least from looking at it on my phone. The one on the left does look shiny, but the one on the right looks anodized.
