Why do so many people think parts are parts and all the brands do is assemble ARs from the same parts and put a different roll mark on them? If you take apart enough guns like IG, you will soon learn this is not the case.

Parts are not parts but if a company claims their parts are made from certain material then I tend to believe them rather than dismiss them just because xyz part doesn't come from a certain company.

I bought a Windham weaponry mpc,no complaints here. Quality is better than my colt 6920. The Windham m4 will do it's job,if you ( the shooter) do yours. Maintain your rifle, run it wet! & you'll never have a problem.

Please share with us how it is better than your LE6920. Which specs are improved over the TDP, etc.

Can you quantify that? I've not seen a current Windham gun, so I can't really offer any comments on what they're making right now.

So...we're supposed to draw conclusions from one-off anecdotes? Crap...any company, even Bushmaster/Wyndam, can make a good rifle every now and then. Frankly, I'd rather go with the cumulative experience and recommendations of people on this site who do firearms for a living, not some guy who buys one bargain-basement consumer-grade rifle and then tries to compare to the firearm that sets the standard for this category of weapon.

Did Armalite quality decline? Twenty or so years ago I had an M15 that was as good as any Colt I've ever seen. If it wasn't for that absurdly heavy barrel and the eardrum busting brake I would have kept it.

Same here, but I would not rule out buying a Colt if it had a 1:8 or 1:9 barrel and the price was right.

Recent pics. DPMS carbine. This was done at the factory and is a fairly new gun. The after thought feed ramps can be clearly seen. Hammer pin broke during a range trip with a few hundred rounds.

Could you please explain what's wrong with those feed ramps? To me they look pretty close to what I've seen on ramps declared good.
It does look like the barrel extension might not be 100% lined up with the receiver maybe? Or is the left ramp slightly larger?

Not trying to be a smart ass at all, and my eyes aren't what they used to be so maybe that's it.

If a Bushamster/Armalite/etc is being sold for a great deal less than a better quality AR, that's one thing, I guess..

But in this market, when a person can throw a rock and hit a rifle that is a known quantity for similar cost, such as the Colt 6920 OEM 1 and 2 rifles available now, or the PSA Colt deal mentioned here, why bother even considering the poorer quality options?
