New grip option for SCARs - Tangodown BG18 with pics

Just got one today and it fits my SCAR 17 perfectly. No gaps and no issues with fit. As usual with anything from Tangodown, the quality is exceptional and the price is dirt cheap at only $18.

It has a similar grip angle to BCM's Gunfighter grips and HK416 type grips. Here are a few pics.

    No gaps on lower:

Comparison with a BCM Gunfighter Grip:

Comparison with a BG16 for grip angle. The BG17 is the same but just larger:

What made you change? I like the A2 style grip on my SCAR-17. On my ARs, I use Tangodown's BG16. Maybe I should try the BG17 on my SCAR. I'm not a fan of the Magpul MIAD because it's too thick for my tastes.

By my read the BG18 is not SCAR compatible, the BG17 appears to be the right item for a SCAR. Please confirm one of us is right so I don't order the wrong item?

I'm replacing mine because the standard SCAR grip wreaks of CHEAPNESS.

Both of my SCARs have had BG17s on since soon after I bought them. Not sure what the deal is with the BG18, but I won't be switching regardless.

I have never been a fan of the A2. The size is fine, as I have pretty large hands. It is the finger bump I don't like. This is in between the BG16 and BG17 in thickness. I switched from a BG17 since I like (and am now used to) the "newer" grip angle like the BCM Gunfighter grips on my ARs.

I can confirm it fits. On Tangodown's home page with the announcement, they list the SCAR 16 and 17 (MK16, MK17, MK20) as compatible. To be sure, I emailed Jeff at Tangodown and he confirmed they were designed to fit without any gaps. He recommended that I use an M6x1X30mm screw instead of the standard one, or just add a few M6 washers. I had the right size screw here, so it was easy.

I bought a BG18 and it did not fit my SCAR 16 lower. There was a gap and it didn't fit properly, like they changed the design to make it more AR15 suited and not the SCAR. I had to tighten the crap out of the grip screw to force the BG18 to conform to the shape of the lower.

My BG17 fits like a glove without having to do any of these.

Main difference is BG18 is a more vertical grip angle that seems to be popular these days.
