The MI ERS does not use a same plane aperture. Just want to make that clear so that people do not mis-understand what you are saying.

All Troy versions currently have a same plane aperture.

You are correct the sight will move back and forth if you dont tighten the bolt . you speak of tolerances ??? what are you implying ?? our sights are funtioning by the thousands with the U.S. marine corps and we have had ZERO . ZERO problems the more i read this review i think its a total KOOL aid article. If you wanted to do a BUIS review you should have had a arms 40 , a knights armament , a PRI and a host of others to do a extensive feature to feature review. I will be the first to say TROY makes a good sight. Does it do anything the ERS doesnt NO. Is it any more rugged in combat under real use, not safe queen i spilled nacho cheese on my gun use. I highly doubt it . The bottom line is different strokes for different folks. The ERS is rugged, economical and battle proven .
    thank you
