I'm not going to believe any of this until I see a picture.

some thing smells funny hear,I bet that never left the factory that way . if they set up to run small pin lowers there is no way that could happen to just 1 ,so that would mean there are many more out there and I have never seen or heard or another yet .at any rate I wouldn't buy any S&W product made in the last 15 years ,they are a mear shadow of thier former self . they might make a good custom shop revolver ,but the rest is not up to par.

Hello Hellbound, Thanx for the reply. No, I did not mean that Colt FCG parts are sub-par(And I couldn't afford a Geissele trigger, anyhow.) What I meant to say is I prefer the MilSpec std FCG pin size Colt has used since the M16 hit the market years ago. We all know that the only reason Colt Changed their FCG pin size was to try to keep civilians from changing out the semi auto FCG for a full auto FCG in their weapons. Remember the old Wives tale that used to orbit the less the intelligent crowd at the gun shows and shops, "I heard you can make an AR15 into an M16 by putting a pin in it." Wish I had a dime for every time I heard that(or something like it)... Anyway, I just don't like a Company trying to ram a politically correct change done my throat because they are afraid of the Gov't. I understand it, but I just don't care for that kind of Corporate thinking. And Colt is still doing it to this day. Look at their LE gun, the 69XX series. Its butchered! .172" FCG pins, Safety catch hammer in the FCG, Corresponding cut up bolt carrier, steel block pinned into the lower receiver. Do they work? Yes, but not as smoothly as a well broken in M16. Too many things are altered for my taste. Colt does build what is probably the best of all the AR15/M16 weapons on the market. I just never did agree with their PC fix. FWIW

New production LE6920's are coming with USGI sized FCG pins
Since 2005 LE6920's have been shipping with M16 BCGs
Before that colt had a half circle shrouded FP BCG
Sear blocks are a thing of legend nowadays, i have yet to see a colt with one.

Not sure about the notched hammer, but with an M16 BCG (shrouded FP), it's not going to do anything anyway...
And I looked, and behold a pale horse and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.

I still don't understand how you can just look at a single stripped lower and tell what size pins the holes accept. I have a Colt 6920 with .170 pins and an Anvil Arms lower with .155 pins. I can't see the 2/100ths of an inch difference with them side by side without using a caliper.

Easy, Guys, Easy. I was not attempting to start anything, I just wanted to point out an interesting "find" about the S&W M&P lower receiver that I discovered. I noticed in Rob S's MilSpec chart that for S&W, the FCG block is not checked. That is indicative of what I found with this S&W receiver. Because S&W went way out and introduced out a weapon that had many MilSpec standards on it, I assumed the FCG would be as well. Aparently, I was incorrect in my logic. It ain't the first time, either....but anyway. You would think that S&W would stay with the standard, almost everything else on the M&P is. Go Figure. BTW, after MANY years of training with, using, carrying, depending on, working on, building, living, loving the Stoner weapon system we all know as the M16/AR15, I can see the size difference on the FCG pins. It's VERY easy to miss, and I almost did, in this case. The .172" pins are just a little "fatter" in appearance.
I would be curious to see a new Colt 6920 bolt group, to see if they are coming with M16 BCG's.
And if any of you guys has an M&P 15, check the FCG pins for size and chime in. Inquiring minds want to know.
    Thank You, Gentlemen.

Is there a reason the smaller pin is mil-spec? Is it better or just mil-spec? It would seem that bigger is better or am I missing something?
