Either way I'd skip the DD MK18, given all I've seen of them being overgassed. Overgassing may not be a big deal in the short term, but if you ever decide to buy a suppressor it will become more problematic.

I registered a lower I already had on a Form 1 and bought a factory BCM upper. I would recommend you do something similar. Either register an existing lower or buy a new one to register. Then get a short barreled upper from BCM with whatever rail you want on it.
    Released in 2014...

I'm looking at the MK18 pistol. It's got a standard MK18 upper on a pistol lower. But I've heard the receiver extension doesn't accommodate the stabilizing brace.

Is it a common issue with sbrs being overgassed? I hadn't heard the MK18 was.

No offense but if you haven't heard about MK18s being over-gassed you need to do more research. There are many posts about it.

Well, I've never been in the market so I never bothered researching the topic. I'll have to take a look...

Forgive me for my ignorance on the topic, but is this just an issue with DD being overgassed and using too large a gas port or is this a common occurrence with all sbrs?

It is not an issue with all SBRs.

BCM 11.5" upper is pretty sweet!
