The weight of the carbon rail (I have one) is unimpressively high. If I was troy I wouldn't publish it either.

Also the SMOS rail is 3-6-9 for the Mlok. Troy is 7 sides of Mlok, as is the Knights rail. Unsure why more of the SMOS rail is not.

I specifically didn't want a 7-sided MLOK (or KeyMod) rail.
3,6,9 is perfect for me. Keeps the weight down, the width short, isn't octagonal shaped, and has rounded/smooth transitions that feel good/thinner in the mitts. EXACTLY why I bought it.

You can't get super-thin profiles like below with 7-sided rails. The KMR is only 1.5" wide, but feels significantly larger in the hands than an NSR.

There's plenty of 'beef' there without a strength concern. I've got Vertex Ops' T7075 NSR barrel nuts on a bunch of rifles and the difference is truly dramatic.
Must be nice to have a bunch of rifles! =)
As of now all I have for long guns are an AR-15, AKM, and a Sub2K (range toy)
I think 300 blackout upper will be my next but only after I grab a can.

Would really like to do a piston SBR as well.. havent decided on AK74 variant or AR

Haven't had my hands on a seven sided Keymod/M Lok rail to see how they feel in the hand.
I was leaning towards the KMR for weight savings but I decided to go with M Lok over the Keymod..

    Bumping an old topic.

Has anyone spent any time with one of these Troy M-Lok rails yet?

I'm looking for something to install on a Colt 6920 OEM-2 without having to remove/replace the factory barrel nut. One of these Troy M-Lok rails, the 15" specifically, seems to be what I am looking for.

If anyone actually has one, can you comment on the locking/mounting sister? How sturdy is it? Are the M-Lok slots sharp at the edges? Overall opinion?

I really like mine, I have the 15 inch. Machined well, and the m-lok slots are smooth. Locks up tight as far as I can tell. I haven't torture tested it, but Ive ran it pretty hard and did a few drop tests onto carpet, it held zero.

I have a 13 incher. It's better than I expected. The jury is still out until I run it through it's paces but I will say it looks like it could be a viable option for those who can't or don't want to change their barrel nut.

For an 'OEM' style rifle, Colt, BCM and Aero all have them now it would be my first choice.

I think the centurion arms attached better, but it's a pic rail and heavier. Not an apples to apples comparison.

The rail is very well made. No sharp edges or whatever.

The mounting system is weak and a limit imposed by using the factory barrel nut. Working with this limitation it's pretty good. Unfortunately it's still week. I'd suggest lock tighting the hardware on it. I watched one (older non Mlok version but still identical mounting system) come off in a carbine class this morning.

just picked up a troy complete upper and first impressions are that this rail is the most comfortable I've held. And feels very sturdy. Then again I've only held a handful. Midwest keymod and and a few quad rails.
