That jobsite is clean by Chinese standards. And some places I've seen in the US.

Maybe I am getting too old and risk averse, and a decade ago this would have seemed fantastic. Working in construction somewhat tempers my enthusiasm of walking around a construction site, and it's not so daring when 50 Chinese workers do the same thing without harnesses or any PPE whatsoever on a daily basis, but the view can't be beat. My true apprehension isn't the safety issue, but that I've been to a Chinese city jail. I wouldn't, as a foreigner, want to entertain the possibility of ending up a resident of the Chinese corrections system. You want me to be impressed? Get a few shots of a Chinese officer with a busted up 870 clone at low ready who hates his job, lives in a concrete cube with no running water, and is itching to tell a foreigner a thing or two about who's boss waiting for them at the bottom of the tower and see if they have enough Yuan in a paper bag to go home that night.

If people weren't already paid off for this... you want to make a public spectacle breaking the law in China? Are you out of your friggin mind?

Believe me, I understand...I worked in construction for 32 yrs (pipefitter), Still, looking at the jobsite, it looks as if it's being run by the 3 stooges. But, what do they care? if someone gets killed, a replacement can be had shortly. And I agree, some palms were probably greased to make this little vid. From what I've read, palm greasing is a way of life in China, and for that matter, around Washington D.C. as well.

The tech's have an elevator they take up part of the way, the rest of the climb they are on a ladder with safety harness/carabiners/etc. A local FD had to rescue a worker up one of those who had experienced chest pains/exhaustion and couldn't come down on his own.
