Barnes Match Burners 175 grain .308

I purchased a couple hundred of these to try and work up a 1,000 yard .308 winchester load. (20 inch Rem 40X barrel that shoots Black Hills 175 Sierra Match Kings at 2640 fps). I use 35 inches come up for 1,000 yd zero with the BH ammo.

Have any of you guys tried the Barnes bullet? It appears to have a secant ogive, its longer than a SMK, and I cant get it anywhere near the rifling in my AI magazines (I have Badger bottom metal on a McMillam 40A1 stock).

Ive tried all sorts of powders, RL15, 4895, Varget, 748, VV550 (!), and CFE223. Everything is about the same at 2600-2650 fps range for accuracy, just some easier to control OCL with than others. VV550 and CFE223 might hit 2700 fps (really) safely. Am using WW brass and primer, neck sizing and trimming cases only. I am wondering whether to seat this bullet as long as I can or shorter?

If any of you have experimented w this bullet in 308 Win would love to hear from you.

PS I am trying this bullet because it may be the highest real world G1 BC available at equal to our less than SMK prices.
