I, too, would like not just one, but several substantiated and independent examples of Colt having any worse QC than x amount of years ago. I've heard this spiel forever. I recall getting my 6920 and having to go to another FFL because in my naivete, I tried the big gunstore first (a place I never shop at now) and they refused the transfer because A. It wasn't "fair" I could get a 6920 and B. "Colt's a POS anyways. I'd rather use Panther Arms. Colt doesn't support shooters".
It's the same tired talk I've read on forums and whatnot by people who spend a lot of time on forums and other types who freak out if they actually shoot their gun.
I think the only reason I have only one 6920 is because I only need one 6920. I have an LMT that has a FF rail but is really no different. Both have been shot. Both have gone out to 400 yards. Both can hit the chest of a steel target with iron sights.
I think the psychology stems from people trying to play brand names and other bizarre politics over a stupid gun. It's actually pretty sad. Maybe I'm going too far with the topic but it's just a lower, not the last chopper out of Saigon
I got rid of my Restricted marked Colts when they quit using that stupid rollmark.
When I bought mine the store I was at had a preban that he showed me. It was 1300 dollars IIRC. When he showed it to me an told me how much it was I was like why is this so expensive, he had regular 6920 for 999 and OEMs too for even less, he was like "oh..its a preban its got an LE marked lower". I was like that's nice....how about that OEM over there.
I have two Colt 6920's with the restricted markings that are LNIB sitting in the back of the safe. I'll gladly sell them off at a slight premium if anyone is interested. Be forewarned that I would immediately purchase two brand new Colt 6920's. Then take the extra money from the sale and buy ammo.
