Well I just discovered my BCM lower that I SBR'd doesn't want to seat Gen3 PMAGs with a closed bolt. Goes in fine with bolt open. My Colts seat the Gen 3 PMAGs just fine with closed bolt.
I don't even know who to be pissed at. All of my mags were Gen 2 until recently when I bought a 10 pack of the Gen 3, so the BCM lower was tested with Gen 2 before being sent off for engraving and a tax stamp.
F*** me.
Since I moved to Maryland my accumulation of mags has stopped and I somehow missed these issues.
I just stripped a Noveske Gen2 to get engraved but it looks like an older serial that could have issues with the Gen3 Pmag. Gonna reinstall the mag catch and buy 10rd Pmag to try.
I'm gonna engrave a more normal lower and maybe see about modifying the Noveske.
There are reasons why some folks seem to recommend the following lowers in descending order, KAC, Colt, LMT. Dimensional accuracy and reliability of use of those dimensions come into play. None are without issue, but the issues in function occur less. I like some others for my own reasons. but those are specific to my tastes.
Spoke out of turn. Edited.

This maybe slightly off topic, but has anyone had this sort of issue with a VLTOR lower? I was planning on going with either LMT or VLTOR for my next complete lower and I was leaning towards VLTOR because of the option to purchase a lower with the A5 system included.
My one and only BCM lower works fine with the six or so M3 mags that I have. That is an unfortunate situation and while I would want BCM to swap me for another lower, I wouldn't expect them to do so. I'm a big enough fan of theirs that I would probably just get another BCM and lower and hope it works. Hopefully it won't be an issue with the Gen III Noveske when I get around to buying mine, it was one of the considerations I had for selling my Gen II.
Sic semper tyrannis.
Quality metal mags are very affordable these days.
