I wanted to like it as well since I'm a big del Torro fan. However, they really screwed the pooch from the get go by casting an anorexic looking woman as the SAC of the FBI's HRT (or an enhanced Regional SWAT Team) and making that unit seem like a group of neophytes. The HRT draws its ranks from Teams, Ranger Regiment, SF Groups, NYPD ESU, LAPD SWAT, etc. and deploy with Tier 1 military units to foreign soil. They are full time door kickers with tons of combat experience in addition to meeting the FBI's education requirements. They should have cast Hardy, Bale, or some other masculine actor for that role. The notion that her SWAT partner would be a rookie with love handles was laughable.

Finally rented it,
I have to say that I rather enjoyed it. Once you understand the plot the whole casting a small female makes even more since the CIA adviser stated he wanted a woman for his team. Cause he knew she wouldn't be much of a threat once she discovered why she was really on the task force.
It was great to see CIA/SAD and CAG take down narcos though! The Sicario himself should not have been using a MP5SD to take the the jefe's hacienda and he should have killed his family in the same manner that his own wife and child was murdered. Shooting is to good for most evil doers.

He was weak sauce for sure, I was rooting for the "bad guys" (CIA/CAG) the whole time.

Watched it tonight. Thought it was pretty good although it obviously had some issues. All in all it was enjoyable though.
