Jerry Miculek on Outrageous Acts of Science

The one and only, Jerry Miculek, was on Outrageous Acts of Science and did this 1000 yard shot holding the gun upside down! Anyone see that? Jerry is not human. I couldn't find the episode on the shows YT page of the show to post, so here's next best thing from Jerry's YT page. But upside down, without the RDS, makes this shot look easy:

Looks like the splash actually popped the balloon, not the bullet itself.

    Still, very impressive shot!

I like his work. It shows what you can really do with a wheel gun.

I like that he took the shot in double-action.

I also like that he just basically threw the moon clip at the cylinder and the cartridges just fell into the right places: Makes me want to get Smith's L-frame 9mm.

Point taken. Personally, I have never tried to hit anything with a handgun beyond 300 yards.

WOW. I was impressed when Bob Munden did a 200 yard shot with a .38 snub.

It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

Bob went 300 with a 1911 also. Bob was an amazing shooter to be sure.

300 yards with a 1911 is a heckuva long shot. Hold over would be in the neighborhood of 16 feet. If you canted the pistol the slightest bit, the shot would be way off target.

You can find it on YT some place. I'd still say 1000 yards holding the gun upside down, far more impressive, but I couldn't do either if my life depended on it.
