Question Any pics of non forward grip Light setups

I really want to setup at least one rilfe with a non-forward grip rail mounted pressure switch activated tactical light.

I am having trouble figuring it out.

Imagine the way an M4 or any long gun is held without a forward grip.

That is the way I want to present the rifle but I want the rifle to have rails with a pressure switch in a rail cover down the right rail with the light mounted on the left side, but I want the thumb of my support hand to be able to go under the light if it is a 6P , E2D type light.

It's like I need some type of riser under the light, but that is going to move the beam away from the bore.

It really makes me realize the need for a low profile pinned gas block so the light won't really be the issue (mounting it at 12 o'clock) , it would just be the fine tuning of the pressure switch on the right rail.

    Thanks in advance

    SureFire Dedicated Weapon Lights.

It doesn't perfectly match what you are asking, but it matches caipability and then some.

Put the light in a VTAC or VLTOR offset mount attached to the 12:00 rail?

This is how I run mine and it puts the light at about 11:00 between the top and left rails, tucked in nice and tight. The front of the head of the light actually extends further than the FSB eliminating shadows.

It should fit high enough to let you old the weapon in the traditional manner you desire.

    Just my suggestion.

That's my set up too. I don't run the bezzel quite that far forward if I remember correctly. But that is pretty much it.

I won't use any kind of pressure switches EVER.

I'm not RD or 1/2 but I found these in the Vltor offset mount thread that Grant started.

I recently switched to a similar set up, works well for me. I use the SF G2 light.

The pic you posted and the pic Sam put up are exactly how my lights are mounted. Like Sam's mine sits further forward in the mount, as I already mentioned. This was so that the front of the bezel would clear the FSB to eliminate shadows, and also allows me to run my VFG and therefore my hand further out on the handguard, which is my prefered hold as I find it easier to "drive" the gun this way.

This is the best way I have found so far for me to run a light as close to 12:00 as possible while maintaining a standard FSB.

I'll try and go snap a pic real quick.
