    Good source for HK93/C93 magazines?

Picked up a Century C93 recently. 160 rounds fired though the one 40 round magazine it came with has shown me that it works reliably and shoots accurately, so I want to pick up a few more for it. Having a hard time finding anything below the ~$80 mark. I know that HK93 magazines are expensive, but is this the best I can do to pick up a couple? I realize ProMag offers them, but I'd rather pick up some original steel ones before investing in about a dozen of those.

On a related note, I think I'm on my way to developing an HK/delayed blowback roller-lock addiction.

Factory mags have been hard to come by. The $80 factory version is HK Parts.net; who generally has them available. You can try some of the guys that sell surplus parts, like here: http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/HK...K-114p3139.htm. RTG is out of stock now, but set an alert and he is pretty good about sending out updates. You can also call or email Gatewood Supply. He doesn't show any in stock, but not all of the things he has are on his website. Good people, though.

The other option is that supposedly Zenith Firearms will be importing the milspec MKE plastic mags soon. You can buy them now from HKSpecialistStore.com, too at a decent price (he has metal factory HK mags in stock now too, but at mid-$70s), but apparently rumor has it that Zenith is going to sell metal mags too.

The other options out there are just used on the EE market on various sites. I am waiting on the stamp for a 53 clone SBR to transfer, so I am in the same boat as you and am just going to go the MKE plastic mag route. My experience with promags in everything has been poor, so I am not willing to part with another $20 to them.

RTG would be my first choice.
Contact him and ask for an ETA, it might be worth the wait.

All of the HK parts folks have their strengths. I've done most of my business with HKparts, plenty with HKSpecialist (including an FN SLP purchase), and maybe an order or two with RTG.

If I were in your position and I wanted plenty of mags for the C93, I might would go with MKE mags. You see on the HKSpecialist website that the MKE won't work with your rifle. Order a new mag catch along with the mags and see what you can do with that.

It has never happened that I have looked on any of those sites and actually found the used LEO marked ones in stock. If you want steel, you pretty much have to buy new.

Post- Sandy Hook, all the HK sites were out of steel and the steel 30-rounders were going very quickly for 200 bucks each on gunbroker. It was really crazy times for those mags.

It's still crazy down at Florida Armory. They'll sell you one for a penny less than 150 bucks right now. That's one of them odd HK suppliers, if you've never run across that site.

It's good to hear that your C93 works for you. Sometimes they just don't.

I gave up on the HK clones real quick because it just costs too much to turn them into something I like.

This is the only one I still have. It's a pretty good time.

That looks wicked cool! Do I see select fire capability?

It's not select fire for real.

What you see is simply a clipped and pinned SEF trigger housing. It will fire semi-automatically in either the E or F position.

Ordered two 30 round ProMags to test/have while I watch for deals on the steel ones. To my surprise, they work perfectly and without any modification. I'll be buying a few more.

On a related but different note, could you recommend a good 2 point sling for a C93? Having a hard time choosing; I don't want anything tactical- just a traditional rifle sling. I'm going to grab a few MKE mags soon as well. I know it says they won't work, but I've heard the same about the ProMags in C93s. Since mine is more recently produced, might it have the right catch already?

Can't help you with the sling. I use that Vickers sling with everything. I cut the quick-adjust strap off and I use an HK hook for every rifle I own.

You ask a good question when you ask about those MKE mags. As concerns the HK knock-offs, you never know what will work until you try it.

The website doesn't say that they won't work in my Vector. This one or the V93 that I used to own. I can tell you, though, that they won't work without modifying the mag. To use that mag, I would have to lengthen the slot cut into the mag for the mag catch.

If I thought I wanted a bunch of MKE mags for any Vector I've ever owned, it's possible I might would actually modify the mag catch to fit the mag. I'd do the same with a Century.

The mod would be easy and the catch would still work with other mags.

Go ahead and try one of those MKEs. Maybe it'll work just fine right out of the wrapper.

I bought four alum 40rd magazines from Apex for $41.50 each. That is the cheapest I've found them.
