Will this stock work with heavy barrels -- in particular, will it work with the 700 AAC? By work I don't mean will it barely fit. I mean can I load the bipod and not worry at all about stock to barrel contact? Thanks.

When we say it works, you can assume we mean in proper usage...we wouldn't cheeseball it. For your specific application, I can say absolutely, as the AAC was a test mule. I have my LTR in one. Up to medium Palma, which is heavier than what Remington considers a heavy barrel or normal varmint barrel, there is a bunch of clearance. This includes the AAC, any PSS, any LTR, any SPS tactical, the VTR triangles, etc., etc. with a bunch of room. Normal usage, loading, resting, anything other than crazy sling tension, etc., it will not touch. It flexes no more or less than an HS stock with full length bedding block. With an MTU truck axle contour, you may be able to create contacts, and you'll need to check for yourself, which is why we say medium Palma is the largest.

Looking at mid to late October for the mag and mag well. After some field testing, we found a few things that would really improve the product, so we ended up a little late on this.

Excellent, thank you or sharing the info regarding the AAC and the tentative release times. I have an AAC barreled action I'm dropping into an FDE model, so that was much appreciated..

Seconded, I'm going for the FDE as well. I'm pretty enthusiastic about this product. All I really want is a 10-round PMAG -- not sure if that's being worked on but it would be nice. Also, I'm sure Magpul's market research people are competent, but the Tikka T3 action really cries out for something like this. There's great sales potential there. The tupperware stocks that come with the Tikkas just don't cut it. Other than that, you're getting a high-performing rifle for a very low price. The ability to slip the Tikka action into an affordable yet high-performing stock like this one would be huge.

Very much agree. I would be willing to bet some very smart folks like Mile High could release a "Magpul Edition" Tikka and it would sell out very quickly. Offer several different optical packages with it, and it would likely be very well received.

Indeed, make it with a strong lockable in the folded position option and under 2.5 pounds, integral QD points. I'm after a lightweight option for a hunter weight rifle.
