Is anyone noticing a trend? A high-profile shooting takes place, and immediately afterwards, the victims' relatives or another related party blame guns, and call for additional gun control. The shooter is never assigned the blame he deserves.

Most people don't understand the actual complexities of the issue and go with simple sounding solutions even if they wouldn't actually address the problem.

Almost without exception these shootings have resulted in calls for expanded background checks despite the fact that expanded background checks wouldn't have prevented this shooting or the Sandy Hook shooting.

It really is like trying to ban drinking glasses that can hold more than 10 ounces of fluid in order to prevent drunk driving. This is how stupid the average person is and it is why we have Obama as a President.
