Interesting that the 87 seems ever so slightly tarnished where it has rested exposed to the powder for a while.

Could be poor lighting and the light scratches from the neck when I pulled it. I already put the round back together or I'd take a closer look.

These bullets are pretty cool. We chrono'd a few loads out of the 20" bolt gun"
23.0 gr of TAC with CCI 41 primer gave me 2633 FPS, S.D. 14
23.5 gr of TAC with CCI 41 primer gave me 2704 FPS, S.D. 15
At 500 yards these were pretty good. They hit the steel all within a few inches vertically. The wind did push them around horizontally though. I'm probably going to settle with 23.2 gr of TAC and load the rest of the first box this week.

Markm, do you think this load would be safe for an AR? I don’t remember my test velocities being that high.
Sorry. I didn't see this post. Yeah. I plan on using the 23.0 grains. It compares well to the 87 gr Black hills load which is moving at just over 2600 out of a 20" barrel.
The freaky thing is that the hotter test loads showed no pressure signs on the case head. I'm used to faster powders that give you warning signs.

Thanks, I’m going to compare this to my data and see if I can come up with something.
Sounds good. These bullets are pretty cool. A 7 or 8 twist easily stabilizes them and they're not all that expensive relatively speaking. I think I was around $0.35 each delivered.
Now that I have the load I want to try, I'll probably spin up 50 or so to shoot this weekend and fine tune from there.

Got a sack of these ready to shoot up in various guns... If I'm still loving them, I'm ordering more.

Shot the 85s yesterday with what I thought was a reasonable load with 23.0 gr TAC. This chrono'd at 2633 last week. This week that same load was over 2700 fps and popping primers.
It was warmer yesterday, but not dramatically. Going to pull back 4 or 5 tenths and try again next week. I'm so sick of popped primers.
