A special thanks to Outlander for helping me abolish t******l from my vocabulary- I've pretty much taken to the Brit version of "kit", but "support gear" sounds good. Has a nice PC ring to it too...

(figured I'd quote instead of rehashing it all)

OH GOD IT'S A GHOST GUN!!!!!

Seriously though, the effort put into machining that is actually pretty cool- by far one of the better "skull" lowers I've seen.
Still wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, but they did do a nice job.

    Original pet peeves;
People who complain about anything color filled, yet ignore HK's apparent transgression in this same area...

People who own a wall of the exact same gun. Are you an octopus? Do you have that many friends coming over you may need to arm and why can't they buy their own guns? I get the "two is one" and "collector" thing, but I'm talking about literally the same gun, with a few minor modifications. And they've got like 6 or so... Go figure.

People who think .22LR is an effective "SHTF" combat caliber, then proceed to tell you how 5.56 isn't combat effective.

People who think .380 pocket guns are the greatest thing for CCW, and then proceed to tell you that 9mm isn't a combat effective caliber.

People in the "SHTF" crowd that buy crappy support gear and justify it by saying "well it's not like I'm going to be deploying to Iraq/istan."
Actually, the ENTIRE prep scene that has become a gun-show-like cesspool of dealers selling mediocre shit you "must have or die" for money it ain't worth. It's like the "tactical" crowd selling things that have no value other than "being tactical".

The women's personal defense industry that provides a lot of useless pink shit to the gullible that buy it simply to make themselves feel more protected. I'm not sure if that says more about the industry or the buyers, but I'm just sayin'....

You are correct. That's why the smart builder always configures their receivers as pistols first. It can be a pain in the cartouche, but you never know when the ability to reconfigure your firearm back into pistol could come in handy

Now that would be a good pet peeve - what is the magic that contaminates your lower if a rifle upper isattached to it first? I can understand the regulatory illegality of putting a pistol upper on a lower with a stock on it, you've just constructed an SBR, which is illegal, although it shouldn't be. But, really, what difference does it make whether you putting that pistol upper on a lower that has a carbine buffer tube on it with the stock removed (legal so long as it was constructed as a pistol first) or the same receiver which was constructed as a rifle first? Stupid. And how does the BATFE know what upper you put on first? I picked up three stripped lowers today, I'm making them all pistols first, just to be a good German, they will all be assembled as rifles, but that 'magic' step somehow cleanses the receivers making it legal for me to put my pistol upper on any of them as long as I remove the stock before doing so.

And we, as a Nation, sent men to the moon, yet we put up with this stupidity? Duh.
I don't defend this, but there is a reason for it. The original purpose of the NFA was to ban handguns completely. Rifles and shotguns were required to have 18 inch barrels and a minimum overall length (the dimension of which escapes me at the moment) to close the loophole that would have allowed folks to cut them down into handguns. At the end of the day, handguns escaped being banned but the minimum length verbiage remained intact.

I did not learn until recently that it was at the end of fifties or the beginning of the sixties that the law was changed to allow rifles to have barrels as short as 16 inches.

My pet peeve? The sabotage of the US space program by our politicians. By now, we should be on Mars and mining the asteroids. Killing off our space program has limited our technological growth.

Firearm related- Cheep optics, whether they are RDS, holographic or telescopic. I get really annoyed with advocates of cheep scopes. I learned a long time ago that cheep scopes make my eyeballs hurt and require too much work to use.

DA/SA pistol triggers, magazine safeties & most loaded chamber indicators. Stupid, stupid and stupid. The DA/SA trigger set us years back. The DA/SA came to dominate the field, not because it was a better trigger, but because the bureaucrats determined it was safer than a cocked hammer. I'd rather have a DAO than a DA/SA.

Glocks. Not because they are polymer, not because they dominate the market (well, maybe a little), not because I think they are junk (which I don't). Because the trigger (like DA/SA triggers and magazine safeties) was designed to make bureaucrats happy, not make the pistol easier to shoot. Again, manufacturers copied a terrible feeling trigger pull to appease hand-wringing, short-sighted decision makers. Again, good trigger development was set back years. We now have whole generations of shooters that have never shot anything but DA/SA or Glock semi-cocked and stacks like crazy triggers and think they are normal. While I admit I prefer the Glock trigger over the DA/SA, but dayum!- it's like shooting a staple gun! At least Walther is leading us out of the Dark Ages with the trigger of the PPQ with HK right behind with their P9. I hope for a coming Renaissance of striker fired pistols with good feeling, crisp triggers

HK P7. The combination of pinned barrel and excellent trigger is something that truly must be experienced to be understood.

I love the P7. So many things about that pistol that just feel right in hand to me. And so damn accurate. Wish that they still made them. I really do. Which, is one of my pet peeves, the fact that H&K stopped making those wonderful little pistols.

Became too expensive. I think the last dealer price was $1,200 and with $500 Glocks all over the place it probably wasn't worth it to make them. I just wish I had been able to grab a Jubilee edition when they were available. But it wasn't at risk of a ban so it was a low priority and I never got one, and now they are well into the rare edition collectors market.

Glad I snapped up a few PSPs when they surplussed in, they are all worth far more than the $500 they were selling for.

Yeah, I know I paid a pretty penny for my P7M8, bought it the last year they were made. But it makes me happy. But even if MSRP was in the 2K range I still think they could be viable I mean what with the cost of some custom 1911s, next gen rifles, and custom shopped glocks, I think the P7 series has its perks, and it does have a following.

If everyone "get's you" then you are probably doing something wrong. Far better to be misunderstood than to be able to quote the latest release from Rihanna or know what Lady Gaga wore to the last MTV awards, or worse yet, to agree with the huge table of ****tards across the nation that think guns rather than crazy people are what need to be controlled. As if crazy, violent people suddenly become benign little puppy dogs if you make sure they never touch a gun. Or worse, to be understood by those ironic racists who believed Obama deserved the Presidency because he was black (mostly) and it was necessary to end racism, even though their entire motivation was an exercise in racism.

Personally I'd rather be known at that old guy that nobody seems to get.
