    Shim or crush washer

I have an upper with a PWS FSC556 installed. This device is supposed to be installed with a shim set, but it appears to be a crush washer.

Could someone more knowledgeable than me please help me figure out what is used for the washer in the photo.

    Thank you in advance.

That's a crush washer. Use that. Shims are unnecessarily complicated for this application.

I have only seen one time out of dozens where a peel washer did a better job.

My problem is, a Gemtech HALO will connect to this brake, but you can't use a crush washer in that application.

In that case, when you get a chance you need to mount it and check the alignment. If its good then I would worry. This appears to be pinned and welded?

Also, for guys more knowledgeable than me, if his suppressor is properly aligned, the crush washer won't shift or anything under fire correct?

Had to be an older halo. Like older than 09' I think.

Do you actually have a halo?

Are you going to actually use a suppressor with this? If so, then you should use shims.

I think I'll honestly just change it out for a Silencerco and run a Saker on it. It's pinned and welded, so to fix the washer, I'll destroy the device anyway. Also, I'd be getting a better can.

I've been wondering about this too; most people give the safe answer.
