    Between the two, a 10.5 with A5.

Then again, my 10.5 with A5 has seen several thousand rounds and runs without issue from PMC Bronze to 77gr SMKs.

I have had 10.5 and 11.5 with both buffer systems, using various buffer weights with each system. They have all worked suppressed and unsuppressed. Recoil impulse seems smoother with the A5, but that is purely subjective.

These days I tend to prefer 11.5" with A5H4 buffer, running 5.56 mostly suppressed. I use the heaviest buffer that still functions 100% if I can.

I'm not the biggest fan of 10.5" 5.56 barrels, I'm not the biggest fan of the carbine type action system either.
With the variety of variables that can be tossed in, there can be a broader range of preferable appropriate gas ports (and other things in general) in a carbine gas 10.5" 5.56 with the carbine type action system without a good solid choice in terms of function. Some would say that it could be over or under gassed depending on what gets tossed into the mix. The broader range of port sizes can and does alter the operation of the system as a whole. That results in a reduction in span of function compared to a 11.5" 5.56 rifle like or A5 system could have.
A 11.5" 5.56 with an A5 or rifle like action system can narrow the range of preferable port sizes to a narrower band with the same mix in variables. The reduced range in port size variation has an effect in the system function that improves operation overall. Mostly due to an increase in time for events to occur, the results are an increase in span of function over the 10.5" 5.56 carbine type action.
I would tend to prefer a 11.5"ish with an A5H2 properly gassed without a can, with a heavier A5 buffer with the can (if involved) over the 10.5" 5.56 carbine type action system in general.

Recommendations on an A5 buffer weight for a suppressed BCM 11.5"?

A5h4. An a5h4 will probably work on an unsuppressed 11.5 too.

I use an A5H3 but it also has a Syrac that's dialed in to my reloads.

I'm currently running an 11.5" with A5H3 and it runs and runs suppressed and unsuppressed. I believe it would run with the A5H4 as well and have been meaning to try one out.

If shooting both suppressed and unsupressed with a 11.5" BCM would the A5H3 be recommended?

Also, if using a standard carbine RE for the same purpose the H2 or 3 is recommended?

I'm torn between keeping the standard RE or replacing it with an A5. I have a new BCM lower waiting for its upper once my paperwork comes back.

H3 for 11.5" on carbine RE suppressed & unsuppressed.
