I can push in the button, but not rotate the ring. I tried knocking on the ring with a rubber mallet but no luck.

Good to keep in mind, I've yet to shoot more than 400 rounds through my can in a day and I've yet to experience any issues taking it off but I usually take it off while it is still warm and I use fireclean. Let us know what works, I wish I had advice for you but I don't.

I would tap on the ring (as though trying to knock the can forward off the mount) with a hammer, lightly.

*This is not endorsed by anyone, or anything anyone I trust has told me to do. It is just what I would personally try.

Try fireclean too. I used it to unstick a noveske switchblock once.

Hope you were able to motivate it off by now, but I'm curious to hear what SF had to say if you contacted them.

I used FireClean on my SOCOM that got stuck on my 3 prong FH. Soaked it overnight, was able to muscle it off in the morning.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Thanks for all the ideas guys!

I tried hitting the ring and the muzzle with a rubber mallet, both soft and hard but no dice. I'm trying the Fireclean soak, if that doesn't work I guess I'll try the blow torch method, worse case scenario I'll still have a freakin' blow torch!

I haven't contacted Surefire yet, I'll do that today and see what they say.

do you have access to an ultrasonic, not cheap one but professional jewelers grade, cleaner?
