Look, Colt M4 is my service weapon, i'm not going to "poop" on them. Paul was just frustrated with his experiences with Colts.
I'm just amazed at Colt that they are not pushing themselves more into the civilian market and kind of live off from Gov contracts and then complain about dying out business...there is no reason why they should be in financial position as they are right now (actually they got saved again), but you get the point.

    Rob,
A question, you mentioned that you were attempting to run the reciever over and that you weren't intentionaly aiming for the rail. What happens to an AK when you run over the barrell and gas tube/piston assembly? Will damage to the piston and gas tube take out the AK?

    Thanks for doing the review.

Not really, if the gas tube is "trapped" in wood or good rail "cage" it will survive. Also, please remember that even if you would run over the gas tube on AK, because of the geometry how this rifle is "sitting" on the ground, gas tube wouldn't take that much damage - rear sight post would be taking all the pressure. Now, i have seen people with their AK's gas tubes smashed - it can happen of course, but even then, hopefully you can remove that broken tube and keep shooting your rifle. Most likely piston will be hitting walls of gas block and not going all the way back in, but you can manage to operate that rifle. I have shot AKs without recoil springs, tubes, dust covers and etc.

Based on? I heard that comment too but unclear what such a comment would based on. Did they "test" Colt and find it lacking? I don't follow these guys so that's the only vid/test I have seen from them.

I think Paul has a bad taste in his mouth from Afghanistan. But that's him and his opinion. I respect my Colt and my Colt respects me...:-)
