    Help ID carbine handguards

Picked up this set a couple years ago only, but havent seen another like it.
Look and feel better than any other aftermarket copy I have seen.

Marked 8448738, OKT 3L549 on heatshields.
Colt handguards also pictured for comparison.

Quick search shows it was made by ok tool and die, and is a government contractor. but still dont know when they were in use..

If anyone knows which handguards are marked 'usa hgw 1', there is a set forsale with black heatshields I am looking at also.

My preliminary search shows that CAGE 3L549 is still an active contract, meaning OK Tool and Die are still making them for M4s.

The handguard I have is the skinny round one..

    ----

update: Saw some page with nsn listings, and OK Tool and Die was making some knobs and covers, I am assuming not rifle related. Perhaps the current contract is for other parts.

Also I found some 3l549 marked A2 grips, new in the bag that were made in 1987 and 1988, so that is probably around the time my handguards were made..
