    Laser engraving machine for lowers?

Does anyone here have a laser engraving machine and have engraved their own lowers?

I have been looking at various laser engraving machines for fun and wanted to see if anyone on here has done this on a "non-business" level, since most guys who are doing this professionally have machines that cost ~$30,000 or more probably.

We have one at the shop we use to engrave various items to include lowers for some agencies.

Awesome! What kind of machine do you guys have at your shop? Do you mainly use it to engrave lowers only or do you engrave other things with it as well?

Do you have a trophy & awards shop in your town? Nearly all of them have laser engravers these days.

All my local places have lasers that do not engrave deep enough for NFA. I can't remember if they had CO2 machines and you need something with more firepower.

I wonder if a small CNC machine would be cheaper???

Seems like the small CNC routers/engravers are cheaper than the lasers. At least you'll definitely get the depth with the router.

The trophy shop by my old house had a Tykma minilase. It's computer controlled and abated/engraved all sorts of metals with a high degree of detail and control. IIRC it's $900 a month to rent/lease it and sells for 26K new. They had a CO2 laser that would do the "white" markings as well, but that wasn't NFA compliant. As mentioned above you need a fiber laser like the Minilase.
