Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion. The SIONICS NP3 carrier group is Carpenter 158, shot-peened, heat treated, HP/MPI tested, 8620 carrier, with correct stakings. If you were to purchase a Colt, BCM or other known BCG and then send it to ROBAR for NP3, it would cost you about 310.00 for the package.

Young Mfg. does hard chrome, not NP3 to my knowledge.

I also noticed that robar sells a np3 coated bcg that looks similar to the young mfg bcg.

Wes Grant at MSTN turned me on to the young mfg bcgs. They have been great.

thank you for the information. By the description I could tell it was well built. Your right the cost to get it coated would not be reasonable.

Despite the fact that sionicsweaponsystems.com looks like it was made by a .js coder on his first trip of cocaine, I'll have to second the suggestion for Sionics' NP3 BCG.

Putting that exact BCG against a similar quality phosphate BCG in identical rifles I noticed carbon deposits took longer to adhere to the NP3 coating, and after cleaning at two thousand rounds on the dot, the NP3 required less of the Michelangelo style chiseling to remove the deposits from angled areas on the BCG.

You will noticed NP3 doesn't hold oil as well as phosphate or NiB, likely due to the extremely smooth surface.

If someone made NP3 bolt carrier assemblies for the SCAR, I'd buy two.

Brownells Nitride 'mil-spec' BCG currently $99, their standard mil-spec carrier is also currently $99 if for some reason you don't go Toolcraft 1B1B6.

Scroll to below the standard BCG to get the Nitride BCG.

Just ordered 2 along with some other stuff earlier today, they are brand a brand new offering from Brownells, but Nitride BCGs are not new.

IG already quoted you and made valid points.

That being said, we've earned a reputation equal to BCM or Colt due to the fact that we hold the same, if not higher standards and have the same certs they do from the bolt manufatucters. We chose NP3 because is consistently makes the guns run with little to no lubrication and is a breeze to clean after 5k+ rounds even with a suppressor. Our LE customers as well as commercial customers both agree, we put out solid products. From barrels to bolts to LPK's. SIONICS isnt a new company, just newer to the commercial market.

If you're not using an adjustable gas block you might want to consider 2A Armament's new RBC (Regulated Bolt Carrier)
They're not cheap, but then again cutting edge technology never is. Total weight is 7.9 OZ.

I haven't ran mine yet, a few more weeks till the build is complete, but it seems like a better solution vs an adjustable GB.

Seems kind of pricey for a BCG. It would be cheaper to get a regular BCG and an adjustable gas block.
That aside, I am still curious, and wonder how it differs from Gemtech's bolt carrier.
